What is Chalice?
Chalice is an interlocking asteroid belt within Alpha Pryderi’s habitable zone that was surrounded by a protective force field and filled with oxygen to allow for human habitation shortly before the freeze of planet Arcada. Some asteroids in the belt were dense enough to allow for gravity similar to Arcada, while whole communities of smaller asteroids exist in microgravity. Chalice received its name from a common expression used by the citizens of Arcada, who described the asteroid belt (which started as a mining colony) as King Trevalyn’s “Chalice in the Sky." Chalice has a population of 1 billion. Most of the people live in large Astro-Colonies, or in the oceanic space station called Narcia. Chalice is divided into five primary sections: Sector Central, Sector North, Sector West, Sector South, and Sector East. Chalice can be accessed from space through six gates: (from large to small) Chase, Havercross, Ballantyne (closed), Arch, Hopkin, and Faraday.
